Rest is a Radical Act of Self-care

Take a pause this winter to prioritize your well-being and explore the transformative power of rest in a brave community space. This 2-hour virtual wellness event is open to anyone seeking restorative practices and a deeper connection to self-care.

The event includes:

  • Winter Wellness Workshop (eligible for 1 General CEU): Explore rest through a behavior analytic lens, explore different types of rest, and learn practical strategies to integrate rest into your personal and professional life. This workshop is eligible for 1 General CEU for BCBAs and facilitated by Jessica Woolson (BCBA & ACE Provider).
  • Restorative Wellness Session: Transition into relaxation with restorative yoga, guided meditation, and a soothing sound bath designed to offer you a nurturing space for rest and renewal.

When: Sunday January 12, 2025 (3:30-5:30pm EST. If you are unable to attend live, no worries - you can access a recording of the event + slides at your own pace.

Who is Welcome: This event is open to anyone seeking to prioritize rest and self-care. It’s ideal for helping professionals, BCBAs looking for CEUs, educators, mental health and wellness professionals, parents and caregivers, and anyone interested in learning how to integrate restorative practices into their daily lives for better well-being and resilience.

Participation: Attendees are invited to participate in whatever way feels comfortable to them - camera on or off. There will be opportunities for equitable sharing within the group. All attendees are asked to review and agree to our community guidelines to create an inclusive and brave space for all participants.

Winter Wellness Workshop

In this CEU-eligible wellness and behavior workshop, we will discuss the power of rest as a form of self-care from a holistic behavior analytic perspective to protect against burnout and enhance overall well-being. We will explore various types of rest, identifying their relevance in addressing specific forms of exhaustion. 

We'll take time for individual reflection so that attendees can identify a personalized, actionable rest practice that they can integrate into their personal or professional life to support long-term self-care.

Restorative Yoga & Sound Bath

Following the workshop, we will transition into a guided meditation and restorative yoga session with gentle, supportive poses to release tension and encourage physical rest. The session will include a live soothing sound bath with crystal sound bowls to create a restful atmosphere.

This holistic session provides a nurturing environment to pause, recharge, and integrate restful practices into your self-care routine, making it the perfect opportunity to reconnect with balance and cultivate meaningful rest.
